Not because life has disappeared from it, but because one irreplaceable presence is missing. That warm, silent soul who was always there. Gömbice is gone. And with her, a part of us went too.
When everything ended, silence remained. A heavy, suffocating silence in which you suddenly realize that no one will demand affection at that exact moment anymore, no one will look at you with pleading eyes for one more treat, no one will wait by the kitchen door. All of it vanished in an instant, leaving behind a void that cannot be escaped.
She fought her entire life. From the very beginning, fate was unkind to her. One illness followed another, as if life itself was constantly testing her. Many would have broken. Many would have withdrawn, lost trust. But not Gömbice. She accepted everything with the same endless gentleness and love. She never complained. She never showed how much she was hurting. She simply existed. And she loved.
The most painful, yet also the most comforting thought, is knowing that she was not alone. Until the very last moment, she was with us. She heard our voices, felt our touch, and received the treats she loved so much. She was safe. Surrounded by love. Today, that certainty is the only thing holding us together.

The decision we had to make was one of the hardest of our lives. Sometimes love does not mean fighting at all costs, but having the courage to let go. We knew that prolonging time would only prolong suffering. And she never deserved that. She trusted us without question — and we had to honor that trust.
She passed peacefully. Without fear. Without pain. In loving arms. Exactly as she deserved.
Now we cling to memories. Small, yet priceless moments. Every glance, every habit, every shared second has become a treasure. Perhaps time will soften the pain. But right now, it is raw and real. Because the love we felt for her was real too.
Gömbice was not “just a dog.” She was part of our family. Part of our daily life. Our light and our shadow. A small, stubborn, endlessly loving soul.
And if there is a place where pain no longer exists, where there is no more struggle, we believe she is there now. At peace. Safe. Loved. Forever.
We will remember. And we will continue to love. Through the pain. Through the tears. Because a love like this never ends. It only changes its form.
